- Sonnets 138 and 144 were published in 1599 without Shakespeare's permission.
- In 1609 Thomas Thorpe scalped the sonnets and published them without authorization.
- Sonnets 1-126 appear to be directed to a young man.
- Sonnets 76-86 suggest an existence of a rival poet.
- Sonnets 127-152 deal with the "dark lady" or mistress.
- Sonnet 128 is the second and final musical sonnet. It is possibly titled 128 for the 12 notes within an 8 key octave. Get it? 128!
- Sonnet 150 and Sonnet 116 are synonymous while being contradictory at the same time.
